WUT Devlog 3: 200 Days in Review
Hello everyone! Sorry for the nearly 200 days since the last itch update-- I've been busy between classes, side projects, and other things, but development on the demo has been progressing smoothly. I've begun to start getting everything in engine for the first few scenes, and would like to show off some of the things that have been made so far. Starting now, each embedded gif, or video, will have a link attached either in the gif or under the media to a high resolution version hosted through miroware.io.
The Title Screen
The title screen is, admittedly, very basic! The plan is for it to serve its purpose and nothing else beyond that.
The only thing flashy about it, is the art and the falling leaves.
Teniad's Room
The big one! The first truly playable area of the demo, and it's the one that's gotten the most substantial amount of content done for it.
Here you'll notice that all the art for the room itself has been fully completed, and implemented in engine.
Alongside this, a fully drawn and animated Teniad! Hey Teniad-- go and turn on some music for us!
It's a simple addition, but it's one I'm proud of!
You'll also notice parallax cords on the ceiling, too, as well as Teniad's simple walk cycle.
While I would love to go into detail listing every bit of interaction text for every tiny detail in Teniad's room, I'm going to have to contain myself for the time being.
What's Coming Next?
Before I continue production on Teniad's house, I'd like to take a bit of time to focus on the brief, visual novel-esque, segment that comes after starting a new game and before entering gameplay proper. The scene is already roughly storyboarded, has dialogue for it fully written, and has a completed backing track.
Alongside that, I'd like to share off an in engine view of something that will be viewable in Teniad's room.
Closing Thoughts
I really would have liked to have more finished by this point to show off for all of you-- but life has seriously gotten in the way of my ability to work on the game. I promise to have more exciting stuff to show off when we next meet, which shouldn't, hopefully, take six months. Thank you!
Remember, if you enjoy my work, and would like to support me, you can always follow me on twitter, and, if you'd like, buy me a coffee.
Wake Up, Teniad!
An interplanetary point and click.
